The following is a quick guide on how to shutdown an Ubuntu/Debian based system. Note that this will KILL all tasks running and shutdown the system instantly. Remove the now text to use the default timer for shutdown.

  • Shutdown the system by pasting the following into the terminal or your SSH session.
    • sudo shutdown now
